Ruger’s Wrangler has quickly taken over where the Single Six left off as the most popular .22LR revolver in the world. This year, Ruger has added two new models to the Wrangler lineup, and they both offer greater precision and more range.
The Wrangler 2308 and 2309 have 6.5″ and 7.5″ barrels. Originally 4.62″ long, these new barrels put more powder burn behind the bullet and further reduce recoil and muzzle flip.

Even novice users will greatly improve their accuracy with these longer barrels. Far-off targets and even small game will be more easily within reach.

Although the barrels are longer, the guns are still handy at just 32.1 and 34.1 ounces. On the hip or under the arm, a Wrangler should be easy to carry in the woods or on a horse, and even young shooters can learn good skills.
The Wranglers all carry 6 rounds in the cylinder, loaded through the gate on the right side. These revolvers are single-action-only and the hammer has to be manually cocked before they will fire.

The barrel has a 1:14″ twist rate, and the synthetic grips cover an aluminum frame. The rear sight notch is integrated into the frame, and the front sight is a fixed blade.
