The Western Hunting Expo, which took place Feb 10-13 in Salt Lake City, was the best consumer (open to the public and you could buy stuff) hunting show I’ve ever attended. If you ever get the chance to go, it’s a fun, fun show.
Hidden on a back row at the convention, out of sight, SIG SAUER had a small booth with many of their newest products, including the new 10K Rangefinding Bino’s, that have been announced but that still haven’t hit shelves.
Also hanging in their booth was a SIG Cross Precision rifle that hasn’t yet been announced. Here’s the exclusive first look.
The following features are in addition to the features found on the original SIG Cross:
The folding toolless buttstock is all steel for added weight and includes a bag rider.
The pistol grip is vertical and includes a steel weight inside it.
The mag release is different than on the hunting version of the Cross and is set up more for competition/precision.
The handguard is longer (18 inches) and features a full-length steel Arca rail on the bottom for attaching bipods and tripods.
The barrel is stainless steel, 24 inches long, and comes with a tank-style muzzle brake.
The hunting version of the SIG Cross is just over 6 lbs. The New Precision Cross is 15 lbs and there are plenty of M-Lok slots for adding more weight or accessories.
The first calibers available will be 6.5 Creedmoor, 308, and 6mm Creedmoor.
Anyone should be able to pull this gun out of the box, mount a scope, and go shoot a tactical/sniper or PRS match and be competitive without doing any modifications to the gun.

Meh! Little bit late to the game. I’m sure it’s a decent little rifle. But only decent. It’s not going to out shoot any custom actioned rifle. Personally I would rather build one for another grand and have it feel right. Pretty sure the triggers are not going to compete with the 700/clone triggers on the market, and the chambers are just going to be spec. Meaning those who are avid PRS shooters and reload to perfection, probably won’t be able to use this rifle at all. Still the rifle might be a good option for somebody out there. It won’t sell for 2500 either. Thinking around 15 to 1799.
Absolute Sig fan if I didn’t have the Blaser R93 Tactical already it would be my option.
I just I would have purchased the left bolt as well as the right, with practice I could have made that work too!
