KelTec Sub 2000 CQB; Integrally Suppressed Carbine - SHOT 2020
Keltec’s new Sub 2000 CQB is an integrally suppressed carbine that is ultra-quiet and compact.

New for 2020, KelTec has released yet another innovative and cool firearm: the Sub 2000 CQB (Carbine Quiet Barrel). This new beauty from KelTec is an integrally suppressed PCC carbine. It will be available in 9mm and 40 S&W. Even though the CQB is integrally suppressed and has a threaded barrel length of only 4.24″, it has a combined barrel length of over 16″ when including the suppressing portion of the barrel. Because of this, you will only have to apply for one tax stamp due to it not being an SBR.

This little carbine folds in half, making it extremely convenient to pack in a backpack or stow under a truck seat.

The Sub 2000 CQB has all of the same features as a 2nd gen Sub 2000, but this one will potentially be offered (as an option) with a red dot, laser and light for slightly more than the bare-bones model. Although, the CQB has a new twist and fold mechanic in order to accommodate these optics and attachments. Also, the CQB will be available in a “multi-mag” and Glock mag offering.

Everything besides the barrel and way it folds is the same on the CQB. Here, we take a look at the bolt face.

Because the length of the barrel is basically a suppressor, you would assume that it would get hot when shot in high volume; but at the time that I used the CQB, it had 4,000 rounds through it and was still cool enough to touch. If it were to get too hot to touch, the CQB has a polymer forend that you can hang onto.

The first step in folding the CQB is to lift this tab, which they replaced the front sight with.

Then you push the trigger guard down and twist the barrel while you fold it in half.

The CQB will be available for purchase sometime around September of 2020. At the time that it is available, you will see it offered for $995 MSRP, but remember to add another $200 for the tax stamp for the integrated suppressor.

Will there be a pre-purchase option before release? If so …… 😀

I will be adding this to my collection, as soon as it is available. For home security this was mad for that.

How much does this new gun weigh unloaded including red dots and lights?

  • johnnyraygun January 29, 2020, 8:55 am

I own a MCarbo upgraded Sub200. Fun to shoot and breaks down effortlessly. As another poster stated, it is a rather expensive “range toy”.
The the average price for a Sub 2000 is $350,,, the price for my Sub 2000 including upgrades is over $800.00. Now add approxmatly $500.00 more for the suppressed model and you too can own a nice quiet range toy………. OK I will take one, because they are a blast,,, except with the suppressed model,,,, a quiet blast.

wow i super love it! Too bad i live in the stupid liberal state of california. But it is Northern california we are all gun lovers and very republican un like the liberal law makeres in the bay area(SF) and southern california. MOST OF US HAVE CCW! SF asked our sheriff for our info. he had to give it to them. now we are in the SF data base. SO IF WE GO THERE WITH OUR CCW AND A LEGAL FIRE ARM LEGAL TO CARRY IN STATE OF CALIFORNIA WITH HOLLOW POINT BULLETS THEY WILL AREST US TAKE OUR WEAPONS FOR A CITY LAW . WE ARE TARGETS THERE NOW. I understand the fine is quite high and you loose your firearm. San Francisco used to be a nice city NOT ANY LONGER! Only thing good of SF is the NINERS and GIANTS and that is it. Crime and homless problem there is way out of control. They promote drug abuse giving out free needles to dope addics. WONDER THERE IS SO MUCH CRIME! Addics need to be in drug camps surounded by walls out of our citys. Most of the homeless are drug addics.

      You sound super smart

I have a rifle with a custom-made integral suppressor and love it. Makes a lot of sense and results in hearing safety with less overall length and easier maintenance than a screw-on suppressor.

    Dear Sirs,

Would of been kool if it were chambered in a 10mm also….

Would have been kooler if it were chambered in a 11mm also…

    • Edward Allen January 30, 2020, 5:50 pm

I agree. 10mm would be fun, and, if you take it camping, a great camp gun for protection is a bear was to wander into camp. I can see KelTec coming out with the other calibers later. But, since 9mm is the most popular caliber, it makes sense to start there.

Remember, the price tag is MSRP. I would expect about $200 lower for actual sales price.

Keltec brain trust, Really? Why you don’t go full on with Mcarbo Chris upgrades too for that price point ??? Then, I’d consider 2 more with those suppressed rotating barrels. Will you offer upgrading my gen 2 s ? Offer retro fitting ? Alas, As is -still another fun range toy.
