Korwin: 2A Infringers Should be ‘Tried, Convicted, Imprisoned’ — SHOT Show 2016

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors Current Events Interviews S.H. Blannelberry SHOT Show 2016 This Week

At SHOT Show 2016, I had a chance to talk with GunsAmerica contributor and publisher of Bloomfield Press Alan Korwin. While Korwin submits articles to GunsAmerica on a regular basis, it’s rare that we get a chance to chat and explore some of the topics we write about in person. It’s mainly for logistical reasons, he lives in Arizona, I live in Kentucky.

One of the subjects I wanted to ask Alan about was his thesis on the effort by gun-grabbers to subarm America. What is subarming America? Well, it’s basically the process of making civilians less armed than officials, thereby shifting the balance of power from the people to the government.

As Korwin explains in our video, “The main purpose of the Second Amendment that rarely gets mentioned is about the balance of power, so that the officials, the government and the public are equally empowered by firearms and the use of force. They have guns, we have guns and there is a balance of power that maintains our freedom.”

As we all now know, that balance of power is now way out of whack. Via the National Firearms Act, the Gun Control Act of 1968, and a host of other gun control legislation enacted at the federal and state level, citizens are no longer permitted to be fully armed like their government counterparts. In effect, we are subarmed — not optimally armed.

From the looks of things, it’s only going to get worse. The government has access to weaponry and technology that citizens can only dream of. Meanwhile, the right to keep and bear arms is constantly on the chopping block. So, as the government becomes ultimately armed, the citizen continues to be subarmed, and in certain cities (NYC, Los Angeles), totally disarmed.

Alan Korwin, visit his website GunLaws.com.

Alan Korwin is the author of 14 books, has been invited by the U.S. Supreme Court twice to observe oral arguments and runs the website GunLaws.com.

The real question is how to we restore the balance of power. How do we as citizens put a stop to those who wish to subarm America?

“We have to understand that any effort to subarm the public is an infringement and the Second Amendment tolerates no infringement whatsoever,” said Korwin. “So any politician who infringes upon us by limiting the kind of guns, the kinds of ammo, or the amounts we have is violating the oath of office and deserves to be tried, convicted and imprisoned.”

In an ideal world, there would be a lot of politicians — Obama, Pelosi, Feinstein, Schumer, Bloomberg, etc. — currently serving terms in prison. But unfortunately, the public has become way too tolerant of those that wish to trample our Constitutionally-protected rights.

    TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 242

In order to comply with the Constitution, Congress has enacted federal laws to execute and enforce this constitutional requirement.

Love this guy’s grasp and would add that “standing armies should NOT be among the population” – and illegal alphabet agencies, state and local LE have and are being equipped by the military with military armaments which is equal to a standing army among us which is TOTALLY unAmerican and unConstitutional.
Local militias nationwide ARE the protection of the people and have been reduced to Rod+Gun clubs and shooting clubs as if the 2nd is about hunting= WRONGO folks.
Local volunteer militia’s should be reconnected to Americana and Founding Principles = “THE MILITIA IS THE WHOLE OF THE PEOPLE”.
    re-
The fact is the massively armed American public fought both Wars for Independence 1776 – 1783 and 1812 -1814 -where Andrew Jackson crushed the British in a final defeat at New Orleans with countryboys+Mt.men that sent a clear message thru to today for the world to understand an invasion would be POINTLESS.
Equally true in the modern world even after a nuclear exchange “WE the People” CANNOT be defeated by use of arms on OUR own soil.
    re-
However – it is the antiAmerican movement from within- now ensconced in government that hate Americanism’s Founded+Framed Principles, Laws for Liberty and In-dependence= just as “WE the Patriot’s” fought with and were killed by the very American TORY’S that aligned with the British tyrants= BOTH TIMES.
    re-
Thank you Andrew Jackson and all the good ol boy’s that he led America to salvation- because the British were planning on shutting down the entire Mississippi corridor then scrap the Treaty of Ghent; keeping us from westward expansion to OUR Louisiana Purchase and mount another invasion from all four sides(E-W-N+S) the next time using a million soldiers and mercenaries at once- from their other worldwide colonial empires.[tactic used by the Muslims in their 2nd attempt to take Europe at the gates if Vienna= w/100’s of thousand’s of mercs from Asia(they lost)].

We all know that anything the government attempts to induce is really a sham and it always makes things worse, never better. About a year ago when I was desperate for a job, I thought I’d try security work. In Florida you first need to get a D-license and if you will be doing open carry, an additional G-license. In total, that was a costly three weeks of classes with an instructor who’s only mission appeared to be to get your check. There were numerous finger prints to be sent to various bureaus and background checks as well. Had I learned anything new, or worthwhile, I may have felt better about it, but it was a total waste of time and money but you are not allowed to work security, without it.
Our government is making life difficult and insane for us all. Licensing doesn’t increase safety, it doesn’t stop violence and it obviously doesn’t improve anything. Somebody please send Obama a copy of the second amendment. Tell him to get rid of the Secret Service because he doesn’t have a right to self protection, since he is merely a servant of the people. Tell him that in the Peoples White House we don’t allow guns and maybe, just maybe, he’ll begin to get it.
Better yet, give him our executive order, “Obama, Your Fired…”

“They have guns, we have guns and there is a balance of power that maintains our freedom.” Is that so? More like, “They have guns, bazookas, missiles, tanks, fighter aircraft, chemical weapons, and a host of other weapons, and we have guns (read that to mean pea-shooters, relatively speaking.)

With the evolution of weapons from flintlocks to H-bombs, the notion that guns can be used to protect us from a tyrannical government is absurd. In today’s world, the meaning of the second amendment is mostly symbolic. That is not to say it is unimportant. It is extremely important because it is a constant reminder of the truth that the founding fathers intended that the people had the ability and the right to remove a tyrannical government, by force if necessary. That is what “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state” really means.

The movement to strip us of our second amendment rights is an attempt to remove even that symbolic notion.

My question is this: If the second amendment is effectively repealed through regulation and gun registration, which of the amendments in the bill of rights is the next target?

    • Thomas September 1, 2017, 8:36 am

Anyone who has served in Iraq or Afghanistan can tell you that even “pea shooters” are sufficient for maintaining an armed insurgency. The Taliban doesn’t have fighter jets, or H bombs, or tanks. Nor have they needed them to continue our now 16 year conflict with them. Similarly, rarely is a tyrannical government ever interested in using high explosives to maintain control. Small arms are vital. And frankly your statement “the notion that guns can be used to protect us from a tyrannical government is absurd” is off target. History books are full of situations where small arms were used exactly in that manner.

    • mtman2 November 3, 2017, 10:12 am

Nice try and good but for the symbolic part(see my above post).

    • Mahatma Muhjesbude November 4, 2017, 4:17 pm

Gotta disagree a little with you, Steve. There are ‘those’ who walk innocuously among us who have had a lot of time training and experience in the military specifically how to ‘take down’ governments through insurgency operations and guerilla tactics that didn’t require much of anything that small groups couldn’t carry. Government ‘resistance’ movements have historically changed the courses of wars and battles completely. I can personally attest to that from my South East Asian empirical knowledge. The ‘enemy’ had no aircraft, no real Navy, no vast artillery, and a continuous paucity of supplies and small arms ammo. Yet the ‘almost’ won against the most mechanized army in the world?
So ‘the notion that a ‘well armed’ citizenry protecting itself from government tyranny’ is not that absurd at all, my friend? Just the ‘deterrent’ factor of untold millions of armed citizens and millions more using considerable resources and talent and some actual military combat experience, apparently is ‘fear’ enough to keep the left floundering in such obsessive compulsive effort to disarm as much of the dissenting Consititutional minded public going at full treasonous speed ahead. And their efforts to prohibit guns completely continuously forging ahead with any and all means.

And the wise Framers didn’t write the 2nd/A in the blood of patriots for posterity to have only a ‘symbolic’ notion of freedom. So don’t succumb to that bullshit leftist flawed thinking.
And to answer your last question.. Without. The real time practice and protection of the 2nd Amendment the rest of our Constitution and Bill of Rights would be GONE Girl!
Bet your life on that, Steve.

  • Didn't anyone pass their high school civics class? January 30, 2016, 2:39 am

It’s nice that Mr. Korwin has started preaching my line, even if it is the watered-down version. For anyone who actually *did* pass their high school civics class, it’s easy to follow; we’ll use the senior senator from California as our case study example:
The senator took an oath to uphold & defend the Constitution as a condition of taking office. By her constant attacks upon the 2nd amendment, she has violated the oath and in so doing, offered aid & succor the enemies of the United States of America. The only crime she is clearly in violation is the only crime spelled out in the same Constitution she has chosen to undermine, that being treason, and the penalty is likewise spelled out in that document. Try her [finding her guilty is not going to be difficult, she’s a lawyer and therefore cannot claim “she didn’t know what she was doing”], convict her, hang her. There will be several others equally guilty who can be found without much trouble. Once they follow a similar path, the rest of the public servants will quickly clean up their act & remember whom their rightful employers are. 😉

Yes and I keep telling folks the Tory”s are still among us…

  • Tom Horn January 29, 2016, 5:43 pm

Mr. Korwin should be teaching a course in logic and reason to all of our American school children. If this had been done 40 years ago we wouldn’t be in the mess we are now (with a nation full of ignorant people who are unable to think for themselves).

How do we break the, “< Guns = Safety" myth?

    Answer: Education/knowledge.

  • BR549 January 29, 2016, 11:30 am

Interesting how the tag line, here, has just enough room on the first line for:

“KORWIN: 2A INFRINGERS SHOULD BE ‘TRIED, CONVICTED, IMPRISONED’ — SHOT”
with the word “SHOW” appearing on the second line. How many font changes did it take to make that happen?

    Have a nice day!

    • Tom Horn January 29, 2016, 6:01 pm

I liked it, too! Expresses my sentiments succinctly. If we would start prosecuting some of these gun grabbers for treason, that are trying and often succeeding in passing unconstitutional gun laws that intend to usurp the power from the American people, perhaps it would discourage the others, and awaken America to what is really going on.

    • Joe McHugh January 29, 2016, 9:06 pm

BR549, are you saying that such politicians should not be shot after conviction of treason? You sound way too tolerant of such ‘trusted” representatives.

  • James Chandler January 29, 2016, 11:29 am

If one takes the time to read the Anti-Federalist Papers and the Federalist Papers responses on the subject of Armed Citizenry it is very difficult to conclude that the Founders wanted a weakly armed Citizenry. It is obvious to a serious reader that the Founders wanted the Citizenry to have the weapons necessary to repulse a foreign invasion. Letters and other written communications by individual Founders also show that they intended the Citizenry should have the means to protect themselves should The Chief Magistrate attempt to become a Dictator using the Federal Army. At the time of the Ratification of the Constitution and the 10 Amendments, the Militaries of the World were armed with Single Shot Muzzle Loading Smooth Bore Muskets and Rifles. Their cannon were single shot, and smooth bore. Logic indicates that the Citizenry Weapons should follow the advances of the Military Weapons. As was the case during the Revolution, logic dictates that the heavy weapons should be in the hands of elected leaders, at the local level.

  • hey January 29, 2016, 11:13 am

The problem is our government operates out of lobbyism, unfortunately that influence comes from the global elite and communist parties who has already sent this country heading off the cliff by lobbying what used the people’s government 100 years ago. The next phase over the coming years is to get the civilians and government enforcement employees used to the idea of marshal law and invading privacy. After the U.S. is denounced as a superpower as a result of loosing world currency status as a result of the reckless monetary policies of the Federal Reserve and spending habits of the government, we will wittness the world central banks come toget her under the replacement currency called the Special Drawing Rights that is a basket of currencies that will allow the central banks become the world’s official unelected government. Meanwhile it looks like we could experience suppression of what freedoms we have, not only by the lobbied Federal Government but by a possible invasion if a Revolution was to be formed.
Oh if you want to get an idea of how lobbied our government is, go watch “The Big Short” probably about or just has left the theater, get the DVD I am suprised the movie made it through Hollywood. Just goes to show how the entire world economy was collapsed and you can thank the deliberately devastating lobbied government.

    • Mahatma Muhjesbude January 29, 2016, 4:39 pm

You’re directly correct, Hey. Except what you said about a ‘possible’ invasion if a revolution was to be formed’. If you are talking about the ‘Jeffersonian’ style revolution, the Totalitarian Police State ‘invasion’ has already begun and guess who won?

Hint: NOT the Free American Patriots.

Just take a good look what just happened in Malhuer Oregon when Peaceful Free American Patriots exercise their legal Constitutional right to public protest in a free access public venue for redress against the government’s Totalitarian over reach and violation of fellow rancher’s Constitutional protection against cruel and unusual punishment and their insidious but steadfast agenda based aquisitions of private land because a Totalitarian agenda will never be satisfied with owning only one third of the U.S. land. They want it ALL!

And they can never, ever, ‘allow’ a proactive anti-government 2nd/A reinforced Jeffersonian type revolution to even be ‘discussed’, let alone begin to foment among the populate in a proactive dynamic.

So Study carefully, my ‘Molon Labe’ friends, an example of this in the government’s tactical methodology of this Oregon Standoff. No more Waco or Ruby Ridge mistakes. Since the protesters immediately didn’t announce that they were having a violent standoff but instead officially stated that they were merely ‘occupying protesters’ with their purpose being only to confront government overreach and abuse with nothing more than a prolonged ‘sit in’ if necessary and an attempt to create public attention to the issue. There were never obvious threats of violence, And the protesters didn’t threaten anyone with overt violence,..

But The government resistance suppression operatus went into full attack mode. They deployed one of the hundreds of light aircraft the FBI bought with your tax dollars to randomly monitor civilian activity from unobserveable altitudes equipped with special high power/definition and FLIR cameras where they can record in live time every detail of moment almost as .good as or improved over the Predator drone, which was also on standby to be directed as required over the wildlife refuge camp.

They had enough agents, state police, and deputies, including at least three full boat SWAT teams and heavy ‘equipment’ to take back an ISIS occupied town in Iraq! They kept a good public information altering propaganda machine going from the onset by continuously calling themed “ARMED Protesters’ -as if there is something criminally wrong with that? Along with periodic unwarranted implied and/or expressed references to ‘domestic terrorism’ and criminal activity, Last I checked open and/or concealed carry was legal and common in Oregon whether you’re shopping, protesting, or just ..driving or walking around? And would be nothing more than a ‘coincidental’ fact outside the purpose of the demonstration, Unless you intentionally wanted to project a criminal image of the protesters?

The G attorneys stayed up long nights figuring out how to charge them with enough to go in with full paramilitary force and arrest them with dominating excessive force so they drummed up some sandbagged ‘obstruction of officer’s duty ‘ conspiracy charges and tried to pick them off as they exercised their right to free travel down the highways to solicit more support for their protest. .. They wanted to teach these stubborn audacious shit booted Cowboys a thing or two about messing with Big Brother Police State power.

As usual, it was ‘out of control’ and they managed to murder, (oh, oops, not politically correct there) I mean ‘take down’ a dangerous ‘domestic terrorist’, According to Harry Reid, with Extreme Prejudice, I saw a few ‘discrepancies with the conveniently blurred shooting from a very Hi-def surveillance system costing more than the average single family home?.. Where’s the dash cams from all those police vehicles? Or body cams??? The possibility of the Rancher’s hand looking like he was drawing or reaching for something could have been a reaction to the pain from a hit from one of the numerous cops drawing a bead on him as soon as he exited with his hands clearly weaponless? Apparently, but with obvious attempt at media suppression, there was shots fired but missed before hand at one of the passengers at the first road checkpoint with his empty hands outside of the window according to a witness now telling the complete story? What about pictures of the Rancher’s white truck? Which would easily show very excessive use of deadly force if it was riddled with numerous holes when none of the occupants fired a shot? With all the attack preparation, why weren’t there any ‘less than lethal’ methods deployed with the Rancher? Why didn’t they just use rubber shotgun projectiles or full auto non lethal pepper/paintball guns, or tazers and blinding flashlites while he had his hands up? Maybe because that would not create such a strong enough ‘message’ to everybody and anybody else?

Because their ‘propaganda’ tactics apparently are working, especially with the media focus on the elections, and their sudden release of ‘OMG SECRET CIA UFO information, and who knows what else next to distract an unfocused public with obfuscation techniques and programmed redirection of the facts. The next one, if it gets worse, will be “No comment while the investigation is still pending”

I hope they don’t murder, um kill, the last four, and just let them go home without bothering them? That’s all they want. the G doesn’t have to get ‘carried away’ with their Tyranny lesson. Everybody gets it. Lesson learned. These protesters .didn’t hurt anybody. Let them leave quietly without risking another ‘excessive force’ debacle?

But they won’t. They can’t. It’s who they are. Because we let them and shameful Sheriff’s like this one get away with it in the past with virtually no accountability.

If you like your police state, you can keep your police state.

If not, Our only chance right now is to all get off our asses and seriously get these totalitarians out of office before it really really really becomes too late. We then get our new Constitutional oriented government to repeal and ban ..ALL anti-gun laws and start all over with a better criminal justice system. We absolutely MUST stop them from making everybody a criminal so they can disarm any segment of the population any time because the eternal punishment for making laws that make everybody a criminal is that you no longer can own a gun.. Even though you are released into society as a rehabilitated law abiding citizen. Reverse that dirty little disarmament of the masses convenience and there is No Way they can ever effectively disarm the populate with specifically designed laws!

Remember, If ‘They’ remain in power, the only ‘Molon Labe’ you have will be on your grave stone.

Since the Protesters didn’t try to stop anybody from entering the refuge or restrict some of themselves from coming and going because that was not their intent,
      .

      • hey January 30, 2016, 1:15 am

I am left speechless for that fact of not even knowing of this event, although I am away from a TV at times, however the biased reporting is a waste of my time , I would rather not give the global elite owned networks the ratings anyway. A problem with getting people to do something is first they need a media source that is going to report the facts, maybe allow people’s opinions or knowledge be spoken by people like us and then socialy interact through media networks that then can cause word and ideas to spawn into action, getting group events started. People with cell phones almost started a major political event against their government in Iran years ago. First and foremost we need to start dismantling the main stream media’s credibility/lack of reporting and the influence of socialism people need to understand the media is one the of the biggest threats to our freedoms.
Please let me know where I can get some real reporting and information, maybe just by doing that could make a change if those sources do not get shut down by Homeland Security.

  • WilliamDahl January 29, 2016, 9:40 am

The problem is that the government has gotten too complacent. They need to fear the populace a bit to properly respect them. They figure that they can do anything they want to us right now and we won’t do anything in return. McVeigh showed them that *sometimes*, when pushed far enough, someone will strike back, but unfortunately, the government did not learn that lesson.

“”When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. “

  • Rouge1 January 29, 2016, 9:08 am

These are the same type of people who were slave owners and the same political party. Our laws and constitution are dead. There are no penalty for those in our government who use the power of the government to violate our constitutional rights or enrich themselves or their cronies on government money. America Is done as we Know it.

  • AmericanVet January 29, 2016, 8:27 am

It is a Federal Crime under Title 18 of the USC to conspire to, or to interfere in our exercising of our Constitutionally guaranteed rights under the 2A. Any persons, including politicians, who attempt to interfere in our rights should be criminally charged and prosecuted for violation of Federal Law. If by their actions to interfere in our exercising our Constitutional Right under the 2nd Amendment someone loses their life as a result of not being able to exercise said right, such as in a mass shooting or gun free zone, the law specifies the punishment for that as well.

Title 18 USC Section 241 – Conspiracy against rights

“If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of
the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or

If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.”

  • Rick A January 29, 2016, 7:29 am

True. Unfortunately there’s a nation of ignorant sheeple that think guns are scary and cause death.

  • Jay January 29, 2016, 7:15 am

When will the masses understand that there is no such a thing as “gun violence”? There is, human violence, as guns are inanimate objects! The term is made up in order for those who can’t reason for themselves to take up a cause they no nothing about just because it makes an inanimate object extra scary and dangerous! It doesn’t matter that in the name of safety as they spew those words too against guns, that many things are far more dangerous like automobiles, alcohol, cigarettes, medical errors alone killed over 90000 …. that accounts for far more peoples death than guns!

  • Glenn61 January 29, 2016, 6:32 am

If any legislator is actually in support of the right to own guns, he or she would submit bills that re-enforce our right to keep and bear arms….. Seems only Republicans ever do this. Democrats only submit bills that seek to weaken the citizen’s right to own guns.
If the Democrats were legit, they would propose strong national legislation that states: All legal citizens have the right to own wheel guns (revolvers, lever, pump and bolt action rifles, etc),,,and end the debate with the NRA with a solid right to a certain level of fire power.
But, that doesn’t happen because the Democrat Left doesn’t want any civilian to own any kind of fire arms. Thus the push back where citizens support less gun restrictions so that AR and AK rifles, 30-40-50 &100 round magazines and other high end weapons are now available along with concealed and open carry laws in several states.
So the inability of the Democrat/Socialist Left to be reasonable by lending some respect to the second amendment has created a strong resistance and actually expanded gun ownership rights in the US.
