Otherworldly Knives from Cabot — NRA 2016

Pretty, isn' it?

Pretty, isnt’ it?

Cabot Guns is known for making show-stopping 1911s. Really, they’re the crème de la crème of the 1911 universe. No one has tighter tolerances, better materials or a higher level of craftsmanship.

Now, Cabot Guns is taking its talents to the blade industry with their launch of Sandrin Knives — a line of blades made from Tungsten Carbide, a material that no other knife maker has used nor ever attempted to use as a blade material.

Lovely blades, but a bit difficult to photograph with that mirror satin finish.

Sandrin Knives are neither steel nor ceramic and are fashioned from a unique and patented blend of powders from Sandvik and a special process to eliminate brittleness. These knives have a whopping hardness of HRC 71, thus making them — at least according to Cabot — the hardest and most durable knife blades on the market.

Given the $1,000-plus price tag, these are more for collectors than average users. One could argue that they are novelty knives, especially when one thinks about the colorful stabilized wood handles, the special box with its own hand-made screwdriver, and the certificate of authenticity that comes with the purchase of a knife.

I believe there are four different models they are offering.

These precious blades with their surgical slicing ability will be available in limited quantities, i.e. no more than 30 in one batch and each knife will have its own serial number to commemorate its uniqueness.

These would be excellent for hunting. Carving up a carcasss would be a sintch.

Up close and in person Sandrin Knives are impressive. Tough to photograph because of the mirror finish on the blades, but very impressive. They cut paper with an ease and a consistency that I’ve not seen in any other knife. Check em out by clicking here!

Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again.
Franklin Graham was speaking at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, when he said America will not come back. He wrote:
The American dream ended on November 6th, 2012 in Ohio. The second term of Barack Obama has been the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest republic in the history of mankind.
A coalition of blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the “forever needy,” the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens and other “fellow travelers” have ended Norman Rockwell’s America.
You will never again out-vote these people. It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away. It will take zealots, not moderates and shy, not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status.
People like me are completely politically irrelevant, and I will probably never again be able to legally comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned coalition which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.
The cocker spaniel is off the front porch, the pit bull is in the back yard. The American Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and the likes of Chicago shyster David Axelrod along with international socialist George Soros have been pulling the strings on their beige puppet have brought us Act 2 of the New World Order.
The curtain will come down but the damage has been done,
    the story has been told.
Those who come after us will once again have to risk their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to white guilt and political correctness…
Got the guts to pass it on? You bet I do and just did….

While the mirror finish on stainless steel may be testament to the metalsmith’s skill, I’ll take a high carbon blade showing the patina of years of use and enjoyment anyday!

If you have much more money than brains, go ahead, buy one. This is a product that requires hyping, because it’s just a stupid idea. A ten dollar knife will work at least as well, and you would not worry about damaging it.

      What he said.

As long as I can get SOG Flash II folders for $50.00 (or less) I don’t want to see knives that are more that guns….nah…I’ll pass.
