Earlier this year Rifle Dynamics did a limited run of AK-pattern rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO. Due to overwhelming positive feedback, Rifle Dynamics is making it a standard offering.

Called the NATO AK, this rifle comes with the full suite of Rifle Dynamics upgrades. In a partnership with K-Var, they start with some of the best AKs in the world, Arsenal SLR106Fs. Together they plan to offer semi-custom upgraded packages as well as completely custom AKs in 5.56.

The base model NATO AK comes with a Rifle Dynamics front sight block. The gas block is adjustable for use with a range of ammo and suppressors. They have an AK-100-series solid folding stock and an enhanced Tango Down pistol grip. The rear sight is modded using the Fuller system.

It also has a regular forend but rigid Ultimak railed gas tube. The barrel is cut down to 14.5 inches and threaded for 1/2-28 muzzle devices and comes with one pinned and welded. The standard muzzle device is a Primary Weapons System RD-FSC flash suppressing compensator but other options are available for custom orders.

These rifles get a Manganese Grey Molyresin finish for a two-tone look with the black furniture. As with just about everything else, Rifle Dynamics will do other colors for custom jobs.

Optional upgrades include an installed SLR Rifleworks KeyMod or M-Lok forend, Krebs Custom Enhanced Safety with bolt-hold-open, Evolution Defense stippling, a side rail for optics and an ALG AKT-EL Trigger.

The standard trigger is a G2 fire control group. The trigger group and action are tuned including the rails, the bolt and the bolt carrier.

The final product weighs a hair less than 7 pounds dry. It comes with one 20-round smoke polymer Circle 10 magazine where available. Each rifle ships with a custom Rifle Dynamics carrying case.

“We have a handful right now test-fired and ready for your custom additions and finish color, so please call or email [to] get yours setup today,” said Rifle Dynamics founder Jim Fuller. “And big thanks to our friends at K-VAR to help us bring this product to the AK market.”

Pricing starts at $2,450 which is in-line with other overhauled guns from Rifle Dynamics. These are without a doubt some of the best AKs, just now available in 5.56.  For more information visit RifleDynamics.com.

Hurray! Finally, another AK that takes magazines you can’t get!

Honestly WHY is nobody developing a 5.56 AK that takes AR mags?

Too bad there are no Chinese and non-Century Arms molested Romanian AK’s due to the retarded US Ivy Leaguer-derived import ban. No help from Trump nor the ‘Republicans’ on repealing that ridiculous abomination of illegal verbage either.

These guys make a nice quality AK. That said, it’s just an AK. When I can buy five normal AKs for the $2500 they want for this thing, I can’t help but receive their message loud and clear: “We think you have more money than sense to blow on status symbols, express it in our pricing, and don’t intend to be in business for long.”

I know guys the Rifle Dynamics guys are too notch AK’s and One must eitger try one or watch videos on these guys passion to understand truly. And I know Jim Fuller is a good guy, a fair guy too but the price though probably justified is just getting up there so high on AK platform that it’s almost like sacrilege! The AK was never meant to be this expensive, you could build a target rifle starting at those prices. But I have shot one before and they are by far the best handling AK shooters I ever felt I will give them that! The gas block/front sight conversion they do really does make difference,

    $2450 and no rail?

  • douglas January 4, 2019, 8:27 am

at that price why not just buy a Galil ace 556? You will have a Milled receiver and factory engineering

Exactly. No reason a standard AK should be over 1K . For that price get a Galil Ace.
