Shannon Watts is not running for Congress.

The founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America told The Denver Post that she will not campaign to fill the seat of U.S. Rep. Jared Polis of Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District. Polis is running for governor.

“I’m grateful to the support I received as I spent the summer considering a run for office in Colorado, particularly from women who are hoping a female candidate enters what is currently a race of all-male candidates,” said Watts, who founded Moms Demand Action in 2012 on the heels of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

“While Colorado has a significant amount of women represented in our state legislature, we need more women in leadership roles like governor and our members of Congress,” she continued. “I’ll work hard behind the scenes to make sure that happens.”

Watts, who lives in Boulder, claimed that her role as an advocate for tougher gun laws and her activism to encourage women to jump into the political arena via Rise to Run is what’s keeping her on the sidelines this upcoming election season.

“Ultimately, I decided my work with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and Rise to Run is more important than ever, given the election of Donald Trump, and right now I’m going to stay focused on helping to shape the laws and elections that impact women,” she said.

Power-hungry people like Watts are attracted to political office like moths to a flame.  I’d wager to guess that she’s bowed out not because of her day job cheerleading for gun control but because she wasn’t tracking well in the polls. Either that or the DNC told her to wait her turn.

Make no mistake though, Watts will eventually run for office.  It’s inevitable.  She’s got everything the DNC looks for in a candidate: contempt for the Constitution, name recognition built off of community organizing and oodles and oodles of money to buy public support via Bloomberg’s war chest.

I hope Bloomberg gets a nice reacharound for what he’s paying this klunt.

Translation: “No matter how much money the Bloomberg/Soros Die-America-Die funders poured into my pockets, they just couldn’t overcome the fact that I’m just plain stupid. Even more so than the typical Democrat. Sensing that they would have immediately lost their considerable investment upon the first debate with a true American, they yanked the rug out from under me. They’ll now look for another America-hating candidate with an IQ greater than 45 to take up the gun-grabber mantle in Colorado. Duhhhhhh.”

Any person Male or Female that believes tougher laws will deter criminals isn’t smart enough to receive my vote!

“….particularly from women who are hoping a female candidate enters what is currently a race of all-male candidates,”
What a sexist sentiment. Must be running as a Dhim/Com, expecting the gullible to follow the Vagina Identity lead with some virtue signal voting. MAN-BUNS UNITE!!!!

What about all those people killed on airplanes, trucks used as weapons.Lets use the Democrat small brain and ban all of them. Go back to the horse and buggy,Well lets see I think there has been some incidents in history where they were dangerous. What now? We should not put that pressure on the Democrat small brain it may explode. History also shows that a bad man with a gun has most often been stopped by a good man with a gun,and it has not always been a law man, sometimes it is the average citizen who has been introduced to the use of a firearm. This woman is bitter and looking fore some avenue to dull her pain and satisfy her anger.

Narcotics kill 10s of thousands every year, alcohol kills 10s of thousands every year, tobacco kills 10s of thousands every year. Nothing is done or said about any of them. How about spending your energy on the things that really matter.

Doctors are the number one cause of death do you people suggest banning them? Car deaths beat gun deaths are we going to make background checks to buy a car or get a driver’s license?

Drugs are illegal. That does not stop people from getting them illegally. But, even faced with an epidemic of opioid overdoses, nobody would suggest legislation to take legally prescribed medication from those trying to remain healthy. But each time innocent people die in a high profile shooting, activists shout from high places to ban all guns, even those legally obtained and never used in a crime, owned by people who merely want to protect themselves.
