SIG AIR Reflex Sight: Airsoft Meets Duty Optics

Authors Mark Miller

SIG Sauer has introduced a new SIG AIR Reflex Sight perfect for training shooters new to red dots. It makes fast and accurate target acquisition easy. With an MSRP of $59.99, it also makes quality training affordable.

I got to shoot this sight on the ProForce M18 airsoft pistol at SIG’s SHOT Show Range Day. It is simple but highly functional. In the bright daylight of Las Vegas, the dot was clear and precisely accurate.

For new red dot shooters, it’s critical to practice the draw and presentation over and over again to get used to using the reflex sight. Airsoft can reduce the cost to pennies per round and bring the training indoors to garages and basements with absolute safety.

Designed to fit the SIG AIR M17 pellet pistol and ProForce M17 and M18 airsoft pistol, this low profile 1x23mm reflex sight features a wide field of view and 3 MOA red dot.

The manual brightness control, located on the front of the sight, has six illumination intensity settings making it easy to see the red dot in all lighting conditions.  The sight features easy-to-use windage and elevation adjustments, and the lightweight aluminum housing and shock-proof design ensure durability.

“We have seen strong demand for reflex sights on our SIG AIR pistols,” said Matt Handy, Director, SIG AIR.

“With an increasing number of law enforcement and recreational shooters now using red dot sights, our new SIG AIR Reflex Sight delivers rapid target acquisition for those training with our SIG M17 pellet and airsoft pistols,” he continued.  “The sight is also designed to fit future SIG AIR pistols.”

I’ve tried to purchase the Reflex sight from Sig Sauer for my new air soft Sig 218. I’ve called them an they either don’t know what I’m talking about or they want a part number. Is this legitimately a item that can be purchased?

Got a question; I came by a sw sd9 and I’m considering a AFTERMKT optic. I’ve not shot it as yet, but it’s a larger frame pistol and I thought it might be a better choice. I oversee security at a large church in Poplar Bluff Mo. ???

Looks like Sigs Romeo 1 Unit. Since folks are using much cheaper RDS on trainers and plinkers, someone will try it on a real gun and we will learn how it handles recoil.

Will,it fit on Sig Romeo 1 adapter plates?
