The Ronin 1911 provides shooters with a pistol that combines classic styling with modern features, the result of thoroughly modern precision manufacturing mixed with a traditional approach to quality and performance.
Configured as a full-size 5″ gun, the 8+1 Ronin in 10mm features a forged steel slide and frame as well as a hammer-forged barrel for unparalleled durability and strength — ideal for a pistol harnessing the impressive power of the ever-popular 10mm cartridge.
The 10mm Ronin sports a beautiful two-tone finish, with a stainless steel forged frame and a forged slide of carbon steel. The slide features a beautiful hot salt bluing treatment that not only brings out the lustre of the steel, but also hearkens back to the earliest days of the classic 1911. The flats of both the slide and frame are thoroughly polished, with an attractive matte finish applied to the rest of the pistol.

Despite the remarkably affordable $849 MSRP of the pistol, all Ronins feature upgrades and enhancements well beyond what you would normally see at this price point. Everything you would want on a modern 1911 is present on the Ronin 1911. The pistol features forward slide serrations, a beavertail grip safety with “memory bump” for solid engagement, a fiber optic front/tactical rack white dot rear sight system and an extended safety lever.
Rounding out the package of the Ronin is a pair of Crossed Cannon™ premium laminate wood grips, a stainless steel checkered flat mainspring housing, Springfield Armory 2nd Generation Speed Trigger and a basepad-equipped magazine.

*YAWN* Obsolete single column with 9 rounds. Lets compare that to my EAA Witness Elite Match, also a cocked N locked weapon with (stock) 15 rounds on tap and a match trigger. With the Taylor Freelance + 5 basepad carry 20 rds of 10MM on tap, more than twice the capacity. Price is comparable and extra mags are $25. Then, for tupperware there’s the Glock 20 with 16 rds and with a +4 basepad giving 19 rds on tap, and even 30 rd extended mags are available
What is the effective range for a 10mm pistol shot. My gun shop has a range with targets at 50 meters and a .45 acp won’t reach the gong. It ends up in the dirt five yards short. Worthless for self defense. What will 10 mm do?
Have someone knowledgeable take a look at your sights. Either that are you have an army surplus Gov’mint .45. Probably the same one I shot for familiarization at Ft. Dix back in ’68. I would have had an easier time hitting the target by throwing the pistol than shooting it. The thing had probably been on the range since before WWII, and was so shot out that the only way I could get it on paper (at around FIFTEEN FEET) was to aim about 30 degrees above the target. It really messed up my confidence in that weapon.
My Para Black Ops in 45 acp and the two other Para’s in 45 acp I’ve had in the past shot great. Check out several types of Round ball ammo and other HP ammo to see what ammo your Pistol likes the best then proceed to “sight in” at home defense distances then out past that tell you find your 45 acp maximum distance to hit the kill zone.
I’ve had Mill Spec 45 acp’s in the past that have been very finicky about the ammo they like and it took several different types of ammo before finding that just right ammo.
All my Para’s where double stack in 9mm and 45acp in the past. I myself have had excellent results with the 45 acp for many years with most of Para 45 acp’s hitting center mass Targets out to 40 yards. Ammo and excellent sites make a difference and a worked over trigger helps even more.
Hope this helps you but I’m sure you will see many different opinions on the 45 acp’s just like every other pistol caliber out there it has it pros and cons. Don’t give up on it yet try to find it’s happy ammo it makes a big difference.

Hmmmm,
You are either shooting some really wimpy loads, you have a really bad set of sights or you are in dire need of some practice or all of the above. As for being worthless for self defense, there are thousands upon thousands of WWI/II veterans as well as SPECOPS guys and cops out there who would disagree with you. The .45 ACP has probably ended more gunfights than any other caliber, or is certainly in the top 3 calibers. 10mm is nothing more than a rimless .41 magnum round designed to work in an auto pistol. People use it for self defense against 2 legged predators and 4 legged ones like Bears…..
That’s pretty but I really like my (3) Colt Delta Elites in 10mm.
I do love my Sig XTS in 45acp.
