The Victor .308 comes in a soft rifle case with an included 20-round Magpul Gen M3 magazine. It uses a direct-impingement, mid-length, gas system with a pinned low-profile gas block. A pinned gas block guarantees it will always stay in proper position. The gas block can be adjusted with the included interchangeable set screws to regulate gas flow.

The 16” lightweight profile CMV barrel, made in-house, has a Melonite finish inside and out with a 1:10 twist rate. The barrel features Springfield Armory’s specially designed Muzzle Brake that distributes high pressure gas upwards and out to mitigate muzzle rise. The barrel is covered with a 15” slim, free float, M-Lok aluminum handguard. The top of the handguard is smooth to accommodate wrist-over grips and reduces overall weight. There is a small rail section at the end of the handguard for a front sight. Spring loaded front and rear flip up sights are included with the Victor and are adjustable for windage and elevation.

The upper and lower receiver are forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard coat anodized for increased corrosion resistance and durability. The lower receiver uses Springfield’s Accu-Tite tension system that removes any play from the upper and lower receiver via set screw. The Melonited bolt carrier group has been enlarged for the high pressure .308 WIN round and is made from 9130 steel. Springfield goes one step further and performs a magnetic particle inspection test to ensure the bolt carrier group is free from any defects or cracks. Springfield uses a heavy tungsten buffer weight to help reduce recoil impulse. A standard charging handle manipulates the bolt.

Springfield developed a single stage enhanced nickel-boron coated flat faced trigger for the Victor series. The coating makes the trigger pull silky smooth and breaks clean. The reset is short and positive. From the factory, the trigger weight is set right around 5.5 lbs.

what is the price for this unit

  • Walleye January 9, 2020, 2:54 pm

Here a few questions, unless I missed something….
    1. What were test results for function and accuracy?
    2. What were the patterns for 5 shot groups at 100 yards with various loads of ammunition?
    3. How many lbs. of felt recoil does this gun produce with the loads shot?
    4. Is the barrel chrome lined?
    5. Can we see a close up picture of the left side of the receiver instead of 6 from the right side only.
    6. What is the manufacture’s warranty on this gun? At $1,395, it better be good one.
    7. Does a gun this expensive come with any other accessories like: Extra mags., hard case, sling, etc.?
