One thing about thermal optics is that they are usually large and kinda heavy. X Vision Optic’s new TR1 reflex sight solves that problem and still maintains respectable characteristics.
TR1 Thermal Reflex Sight
Weighing in at just .55 pounds, the TR1 is certainly less massive than most thermals on the market. But it’s likely to still do the job for most hunters.
It can detect objects 1,000 yards away, and they are totally recognizable by the time they are 500 yards away. That’s a long shot, and often farther than you can shoot from a blind. Hog hunters may like this little tool.
The display shows thermal subjects using white hot, black hot, red hot, color, or target highlight options.
It’s got a 1.63″ AMOLED screen that is surprisingly clear and sharp. Since there are no optics on the user’s side, only your own hyperopia dictates how far away you need to hold the sight. it has a 13mm objective lens and offers a 23.6° x 20.7° field of view and 1-4x digital magnification.
The TR1 mounts to a Picatinny rail with a quick detach mount. It’s powered by a CR123 battery and works with rechargeables, too. With an IP67 rating, it’ll keep working no matter how bad the weather gets.
