All previous variations were round butt framed. The original deep, rich, blue finish does show a small number of nicks and scratches as one expects from a revolver 97 years old. However the rich, deep blue shoes that it was well cared for. The original diamond grips show some wear and a crack (see pictures) in the grip panel. This revolver was carried on horseback patrol by a Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy in the area ajacent to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. 6 inch barrel has fixed sights, a fine bore and mechanicals. It has RARE square butt wooden butt panels. The majority of Model of 1903 as most of these had round hard rubber grip pannels. The stampings are sharp and clear. These were made for only two years and are few and far between.
