This Kimber of Oregon Model 89 Big Game Rifle African in .419 Rigby is special because it is configured as the rare African Big Game Rifle, always sought and seldom seen....especially when NEW with papers and socks. The serial number is “AF0247”, consistent with our belief (based on information from Kimber sources in the 1990s) that total African production was in the neighborhood of 261 rifles across three known calibers: .375 H&H; .416 Rigby and .505 Gibbs. This beautiful Kimber African sporting rifle is graced with the following features and embellishments: an AA quarter sawn English walnut stock providing strength and beauty; an ebony foreend tip; a beaded, English style cheekpiece; 20 LPI borderless hand cut checkering that wraps the forearm and crosses over the pistol grip; a red rubber recoil pad with Kimber name; twin recoil cross bolts with ebony plugs; a drop box magazine; an express sight package with contoured quarter rib, two leaf rear sight and a banded, ramped, hooded front sight; a barrel mounted sling swivel stud; a trap door pistol grip storing an extra front sight and allen wrench; matte finish, soft luster bluing on all metal; the desirable square bridge receiver.
