Description: This listing is for the exact shotgun in the photos. This is not a comfortable shooting weapon, even if someone is doing varmint control with Super Light 2 3/4 inch shells, but a powerful one. For a good balance between firepower and felt recoil, a 12 gauge 3 inch Magnum load with 1 1/4 oz. BB Steel Shot delivers 90 Pellets at 1400 feet per second from the muzzle and that figures the rough equivalent of 2 boxes of .17 Mach II bullets all in one shot. Consumers must be at least 21 years of age to own one of these, any shotgun with a pistol grip has Federal Status as a hand gun for age and residency purposes. This is Mossberg's Chainsaw variant of its Cruiser Grip shotgun, the Persuader 12 gauge pistol grip variant of the tried-and-true Model 500 slide action with tang safety, easily employed by Left Handed Shooters. A secure hold on the bar assembly prevents the forward section of the shotgun from rising into the shooter’s face. Manufacturer and warrantor is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, and internal parts in a lightweight alloy receiver with polymer trigger assembly, forend assembly, and cruiser grip. Type is double slide bar, pump or slide action shotgun. Barrel is 590 style heavy 18 1/2 inch, with breacher ported muzzle that holds the brass bead sight. Operators should not try firing muzzle against wood or any other surface, unless they have the word Stupid clearly tattoed on their foreheads. Choke is wide open cylinder bore, .725 vicinity at the collar area. Forend is chainsaw type, with an over barrel action bar above the barrel, built onto a traditional corn cob type polymer forend that has twin lateral picatinny rails. Chambering is for 12 gauge 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells interchangeably, with five shot magazine. Magazine is 590 type and will accept an extension tube or replacement cap. Capacity, then, is 5+1 on 2 3/4 inch shells, or 4 + 1 on 3 inch. Safety is traditional Mossberg tang mounted on the receiver. Pistol grip is hard polymer factory, with combat finger grooves, and brings the shotgun’s overall length to 28 inches. Finish is military parkerized steel surfaces, with matching matte anodized receiver. Weight empty is 6 pounds, with center of gravity at the back of the forend. This specimen is what we call a factory demo. It served as showgirl for Mossberg’s sales force, on the road with their reps and writers; and at gun industry trade shows like the annual SHOT show in Las Vegas. Surface detractions are minimal, really no more streaking and faint edge whitening than what one sees on many new display guns in stores. We rate it as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Shoppers can possibly spot the letter U stamped on the left side of the receiver above the serial number. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. If this shotgun was test fired, it was fewer than 20 times. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. This 500 Chainsaw Breacher comes in a relabeled Mossberg Factory Box with factory lock, instruction manual, NSSF and NRA flyers. Replacement pricing is $500 in our area. We’re offering the exact shotgun in the photos, however, for only $ 359.00. Buyers must be at least 21 Years of Age; the Cruiser grip gives this shotgun Other Weapon status on the 4473 form. Local pickup by a civilian non dealer has to be a Tennessee Resident. Dealers in one state cannot transfer over-the-counter to a resident of another state on cruiser grip shotguns.
