BB Steel Shot delivers 90 Pellets at 1400 feet per second from the muzzle and that figures the rough equivalent of 2 boxes of .17 Mach II bullets all in one shot. Consumers must be at least 21 years of age to own one of these, any shotgun with a pistol grip has Federal Status as a hand gun for age and residency purposes. This is Mossberg's Chainsaw variant of its Cruiser Grip shotgun, the Persuader 12 gauge pistol grip variant of the tried-and-true Model 500 slide action with tang safety, easily employed by Left Handed Shooters. Pistol grip is hard polymer factory, with combat finger grooves, and brings the shotgun’s overall length to 28 inches. Finish is military parkerized steel surfaces, with matching matte anodized receiver. Weight empty is 6 pounds, with center of gravity at the back of the forend. This specimen is what we call a factory demo. It served as showgirl for Mossberg’s sales force, on the road with their reps and writers; and at gun industry trade shows like the annual SHOT show in Las Vegas. Surface detractions are minimal, really no more streaking and faint edge whitening than what one sees on many new display guns in stores.
