Roper Repeating Shotgun 16 ga Mf’d 1 . Bore VG fine pitting, Mech Near Exc, Wood VG plus near exc ,has a scratch on the left wrist area and has the original metal buttplate. Has a 26” Rd barrel with brass bead front sight and choke on the end. The receiver is complete, Dust cover on top is marked Roper 16 no other markings other than the number 44 under the forarm on the barrel and the triggerguard which is probably the serial#44 . Has a 4 shot rotating cylinder. Metal overall has a dark aged grey brown patina finish with fine pitting in areas nearly overall. Uses Roper special steel shells . Made in Amherst Mass 1 then moved to Hartford Conn 1. Serial numbers are separate for each location. 1 on up.
