It was probably shipped as a carbine in 1890, judging from the saddle ring and serial number (serial #356xxx). However, it has been converted to a short rifle with octagon barrel, 20" long, and a button magazine. I assume the barrel has been cut down. It has a fair bore with decent rifling, but lots of shallow pitting, common with the use of black powder. We have test fired the gun and it works fine. It has a Winchester flat top rear sight and a standard Lyman front sight. Our prices reflect a 4% discount for cash or certified funds (Cashier’s Check, USPS Money Order – no Western Union or other type money order). Credit card payments do not receive this discount.
