This is the principal #3701 variant of the Lightweight Compact Pistol, the LCP with matte blue steel slide, like the Kel-Tec P3AT. Ruger has made some cosmetic improvements to the Floridian brainchild as well as a much easier disassembly and reassembly. The Ruger has a zipper case and extra finger rest for its only magazine; and the Ruger factory lock not only weighs more than Kel-Tec's lock; it weighs more than the LCP itself. Here is what Ruger says about their Polymer framed .380, now in its eighth year of production: Ultra-light, compact carry pistols weigh only 9.4 ounces in Ruger's smallest pistol frame with a height of 3.6 inches and a width of just .82 inches. The LCP is comfortable and affordable, making it a natural choice for a dependable back-up or personal defense carry pistol. High performance, glass-filled nylon frame is topped by a thorough-hardened steel slide in a hard black finish. Type is hammer fired, full time double action pistol. It fires by means of a 1 inch travel, 6 1/2 pound vicinity pull of its .280 smooth faced polymer trigger. Magazine is blue steel, with steel spring and black polymer finger rest floor plate and cartridge follower, made by Mec-Gar for Ruger and under its license. This pistol holds 6 + 1 rounds of .380 ACP caliber ammunition. This LCP comes to us from its exclusive Local West Tennessee civilian owner. It is in its original box with zipper pouch, lock, fired brass envelope dated from April 2012, instruction manual, and never executed factory registration papers. Surface detractions are negligible, it even has its original inspector sticker on its side. It has been fired fewer than 20 times.
