Barrel: Sighted, Octangonal to round, deeply engraved, swamped, recycled earlier, (likely 17 th Century) very good quality Turkish Matchlock barrel wityh a heavy and well crafted profile silver inlayed makers marks on it breech-top and crafted wiht numerous stages, deeply chiseled flutes and finely etched/embossed "twisted pattern. Of ver good quality Turkish manufacturer, ca. 1670 and made with an integrally forged rectangular tang/breech-plug and a sculped power-pan. The muzzle with a deeply fluted and multistage flared mouth of early Turkish form, ca. 1680. Action: Typical Indian type matchlock mechanism with a forward -facing, simply sculpted, match-holder(serpentine) and a rounded powder pan. Caliber: .50. Bore: Smoothbore. Barrel Length 42 3/4. Overall Length: 61 1/2 inches. Stock has been damaged through years of the owners traveling the world. Professional advice states that repairs can be made..
