Description:
This listing is for the exact revolver in the photos. We began selling Rossi’s well made copies of the Smith & Wesson Chief’s Special in the 1960s, as the model 30. Here is the nicest nickel model 68 we’ve had in years. Manufacturer is Amadeo Rossi of Sao Leopoldo, Brazil, a Taurus affiliate. Importer was Interarms, #10 Prince St., Alexandria, VA. From this specimen’s D399000 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in 1979 or 1980. It came to us from its home in New England. Type is traditional double and single action. Construction is entirely steel, with Brazilian Walnut magna type service grips. Finish is bright nickel, with blued steel hammer, rear sight, and trigger. Frame is J Size small frame, with Square Butt Grip frame and 3 screw side plate. Barrel is 3 inch tapered like the original Smith & Wesson Chief’s Specials. Front Sight is barrel integral solid rib with serrated blade. Rear sight is windage adjustable blue steel blade. Cylinder capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Smith & Wesson Special caliber ammunition, and Interarms did Not rate its Rossis for +P ammo. Trigger is .240 serrated face service type with semi-target, shorter spur .400 serrated hammer with hammer nose firing pin. Weight empty is a well balanced 22 ounces with center of gravity at the trigger. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, 12 pound vicinity, with a crisp original 4 3/4 pound single action pull. Safety system consists of a transfer bar that prevents the firing pin from touching a cartridge primer unless the trigger is fully depressed. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint occasional scours and faint dulling to the finish. We rate this 68 as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, 85 to 90 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Cylinder times and aligns correctly in all five positions. Lateral play is minimal with the trigger relaxed, but with the trigger fully depressed there is no lateral play whatsoever. From the negligible blast effect on the top strap, and from the moderate carbon deposits on the cylinder face, we estimate this Rossi has been fired fewer than 100 times. Replacement pricing on the last special run Smith & Wesson Nickel 36 was over $700 apiece. We’re offering the attractive Rossi model 68 in the photos, however, for only $ 319.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. Any ammunition or personnel showing in our photos is Not included.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
