Offered for sale is very nice and all authentic USGI US army WWII Rifle – Springfield model 1903 - caliber 30-06– A3 manufactured in 1943 by Smith Corona. First contract block model 03-A3 - Serial 3665799. Main production of M1903A3 was handled by Springfield Armory, but 2 blocks were contracted to Smith Corona Plant to meet demand. Rifles made by this contractor are scarce & hard to find since production number was smaller when comparing to Springfield 1903-A3 production. This example has correct finish and remains in very nice condition.
Stock in good shape with 1/2" 'circled P' proof firing mark on the bottom of the grip (behind the trigger guard). RTA LB engraved lightly into left side of stock and ?639 engraved into base of stock.
There are no any cracks or chips, just the expected handling marks from a rifle of this pedigree. Flaming bomb proof stamped on barrel along with date 4 – 43. Bore is in excellent condition for its era – 8/10, 4 groove with light signs of wear.
This is classic rifle that managed to survive till today in all-original and unmolested condition. No import or export stamps, no arsenal or depot rebuild.
