From the classic days of mass merchandising Japan made Frost Knives in the late 1970s and early 1980s comes this Surgical Steel Frost Lock Blade Skinner with Genuine Bone Handles. Blade measures 2 15/16 inches from heel to point; overall length open is 6 1/8 inches; and overall length closed is 3 1/2 inches. Blade has been sharpened only once, we believe, and that on a high bevel that did not affect the original brushed stainless finish on the blade. This knife is mechanically sound with minimal carry scouring on its surfaces. We classify it as Excellent, but photos ought to suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Bolsters are solid Nickel plated, and liners are brass. We sold lots of these during their heyday, and few of them ever show back up like this one has. Our memory is too poor to remember the model number. Tangs are stamped Frost Cutlery with Eagle Logo on obverse, and Surgical Steel Japan on reverse. Backspring strength is excellent, and lock is strong. Note that there has been some blade contact to the reverse side brass liner upon closing. Handles are very pretty, with attractive pocket wear buffing and dark aging to their surfaces. We’re offering this fine Japanese Frost for only $ 29.95.
