Blue w/ colorful casehardening & excellent, one-piece walnut grips. Naval scene engraved percussion cylinder, 7 ½” barrel. This has been safely & expertly converted by a professional gunsmith in 2012 to fire .38 long Colt (Black Powder or equivalent Cowboy Loads only!) w/ a Kirst conversion cylinder w/ loading gate & ejector housing. Percussion cylinder & loading lever can be re-installed to fire as a Cap & Ball, so it's two guns in one! Conversions of various revolvers were the norm back in the day & were done either by the factory or your local gunsmith/blacksmith & were less expensive than a new `73 SAA. Handling wear on grip backstrap, barrel end & the bluing is fading or gone on both sides of ejector housing area, hence the Good rating, otherwise Very Good to Excellent elsewhere. Loading lever retainer has been removed for better appearance & holstering, easily put back. Perfect bore & very smooth action that feels exactly like a real `60 Army Richards Conversion that I owned. Only 5, .38 Long Colt cartridges fired after conversion & unfired in original percussion configuration. Comes w/ 45, .38 Long Colt Black Powder Cartridges from Buffalo Arms, all original percussion components & Kirst Instructions. *FFL is required* WHY? Because by law to paraphrase, if a handgun has been converted or modified to shoot metallic cartridges by cutting a loading port into the frame, then it’s a FIREARM! And as a Firearm, it must be transferred through an FFL dealer. If you know otherwise, let me know. FYI: I have 100% Positive Feedback as a buyer & seller on 2 other major gun sites, can supply if interested.
