Description: A Once in Forever Chance to Own Two of the finest high grade sporting rifles produced by Cooper Firearms of Montana !! As a special demonstration of the Cooper craftsmanship, the Cooper factory handcrafted two Custom Classic Sporters for the 2009 Shot Show: one Model 57M in .17 HMR and one M52 in .280. This pair of rifles are “identical twins” in terms of the hand selected, presentation grade Claro walnut hand crafted for the stocks, the hand checkering cut at 22LPI and wrapping around the forearms and crossing over the pistol grips, the hand formed genuine ebony foreend tips, the bedded actions, the free-floated barrels, the adjustable trigger groups, the high polish deep blue-black metal finish, the hand crafted beaded cheekpieces, and the renowned Cooper tack driving accuracy. In addition to these features, the folks at Cooper embellished these heirloom rifles with the following options and very special enhancements: skeleton butt plates with hand checkered centers; skeleton grip caps with hand checkered centers; 3-panel hand checkered bolt knobs; dual screw inletted sling swivel studs, front and rear; quarter rib, folding, adjustable rear sight packages; and barrel band, ramped, front sight with gold bead packages. For the record, it has been 10 years or more since L & M Enterprises has seen a sight package on a Cooper rifle (Cooper dropped this option from their offerings in the 1990s for a variety of reasons, much to the disappointment of Cooper enthusiasts). Then, to make these beautiful sporters the showpieces of one lucky sportsman’s firearm collection, Jeff Spicer, the Cooper factory in-house engraver, hand engraved the metal in the American Scroll pattern, as follows: skeleton butt plates and screw heads, skeleton grip caps and screw heads, receivers (full coverage including tang, except for space allotted to the scope ring bases), first three inches of the barrels (from the receivers) on each side and on the barrel top in front of the quarter rib “prow”, quarter rib tops and each side adjacent to the rear sights, in front of front sight ramp, bottom of front sight bands, trigger guards (bottom and sides, front and rear), bottom metal and hold-down screw heads, inletted sling studs and screws (have you seen how small these are??), magazine bases, and bolt shroud ends. Jeff then inlayed two yellow gold wires, one around the muzzle and one around the bolt shroud of each rifle. Jeff handed stippled the front sight ramps leading from the barrel surface to the sight blades and the quarter rib ramps leading from the receiver to the rear sight plateau. Finally, Jeff hand sculpted and engraved, in 3 dimensional relief, a yellow gold prairie dog on the base plate of the M57M magazine, and a Rocky Mountain ram’s head with yellow gold horns on the base plate of the M52 magazine. The purchase price includes the buyer’s choice of Talley rings (2 sets), one inch or 30MM in low, medium or high height, engraved by Jeff Spicer to match the engraved receivers. Gold wire embellishments are available at added cost.Whew!!! What a list of reasons to own this pair of Cooper Custom Classic treasures !! Oh……..I forgot to mention that both of these rifles share a common serial number…….and it is a single digit from special receivers reserved by Cooper for a most special occasion, like the 2009 Shot Show……the shared serial number is “5”. What do you think of that?? Single digit serial numbered receivers and they match……..a true rarity that will make this pair of magnificent Cooper rifles cherished heirlooms as they pass down from one generation to the next. One chance only. Cooper single digit receivers are extremely rare and the engraving and options on these rifles will bring smiles to your face every time you hold these rifles in your hands and every time you share them with your friends. This pair of rifles is available only as a set at $17995.00, cash or cash equivalent. Insured shipping to your specified FFL agent is $200.00.
