This is a non-take down model with 100% original finish. This gun has the original six row ventilated handguard and bayonet attached muzzle for end. Included with this shotgun is a period 22 inch bayonet and scabbard in fine condition. The bayonet is marked W on the lower blade with a small X on the opposite side. This gun has a walnut high comb stock with a Winchester hard rubbed butt plate. As were a majority of the trench guns used in WWI this gun does not have military cartouche markings. This an excellent find for a discerning collector, a very nice Winchester 1897 Trench Shotgun.
