Since Guns America does not have a category for SCCY pistols, we placed this listing under the most obvious choice, Kel-Tec. SCCY industries was begun about 15 years ago by former employees of Kel-Tec, but the only lawsuit we’ve heard of them having is with a Vodka Compny. Similarities to the Kel-Tec P11 are obvious from the photos, just like the Ruger LC9. The SCCY CPX2, writes the factory, is a great conceal carry gun for the money. It features a barrel machined from bar stock with 7 lands and grooves having a 16-1 right hand twist, 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum receiver machined from bar stock, the grip and frame are made from Zytel polymer with ergonomic finger grooves and an integral Re-coil Cushion. It is a double action only with internal hammer with inertial firing pin. The CPX2 does NOT have a manual safety, and a 9 pound trigger pull. Included with the CPX2 you get (2) double stack ,10 round magazines with finger extension base installed and 2 flat magazine bases included. As far as other specs, type is blowback action semi-auto pistol. Manufacturer is SCCY Industries of Daytona Beach, Florida. Barrel is 3.1 inches; height is 4 inches; overall length from muzzle to grip frame strut is 5.7 inches; 1 inch width; and weight of 15 ounces empty. Sights are 3 dot configuration, stake on polymer front with dovetailed steel rear. Type is double action only, every shot involves a long smooth double action pull. Caliber, of course, is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Magazines are smooth finished matte blue steel, and put us in mind of Check-Mate manufacturing more than they do Mec-Gar. Like the P11, this pistol will accept 5900 series Smith & Wesson magazines with some protrusion due to the S&W Mags’ length. Note the stainless slide and steel guide rod. Photo specimen is one of two unfired pistols we got from another dealer. Both pistols are in their original boxes with interchangeable magazine floorplates, total of two magazines, lubricant, fired brass envelope from late 2013, warranty card, and instruction manual. These two pistols have never been loaded, sold, or fired. Surface detractions are negligible, only very faint slide contact streaking to the barrel’s chamber cowl, really no more than any other brand new pistol that has been on display in a gun shop. Since each pistol is under factory warranty, we will not offer a return privilege. Replacement pricing on pistols like this one, including the very similar Ruger LC9, is $400 or more in our area.
