I have a stripped Colt 1911 slide (NOT 1911A1!!), just unwrapped from the protective paper and black grease after about 70 years in storage. The right side of the slide is marked "Model of 1911 US ARMY", left side is marked "Colts Pt FA Mfg Co", the prancing pony, and the patent dates. Slight wear in the bluing on the corners of the slide, but otherwise very clean! I doubt you will find any more of these any time soon. If you are restoring a 1911 pistol, this is the one for you! = years in a warehouse.
