Description:
Here is a veteran of the West Tennessee Hill Deer Woods, manufactured in President Nixon’s Re-election Year of 1972. Few Marlin .30-30s are fired very much, this one included; its owner, however, was a dedicated deer hunter and it has extensive weathering to its finish. Barrel surface is mostly gun metal gray with some splotchy cold blue residue, but the magazine tube has most of its original blue finish intact. Sides of the receiver are quite good, too, with substantial whitening to the matte areas on the receiver underside and etchy superficial pitting to the lower edges of the lever. Walnut stock and forend have substantial amounts of original finish intact, but a person can tell they’re weathered. We rate this 336 Marlin as only Good Finishwise, since about 40 percent of its surfaces show wear by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. This .30-30 is Excellent mechanically, bore and chamber in its Micro-Groove barrel are excellent, and the mechanism is excellent as well. Note the near-full strength of the gold plating on the trigger. We’re offering this solid, serviceable, and even attractive Nixon Era 336 Marlin for only $ 349.95.
