I HAVE ADDITIONAL NEW BARRETT MAGAZINES FOR $25 EACH.. The Barrett MODEL REC7 is a powerful and reliable rifle in the familiar AR configuration – though with a piston. Though compact – it also has an adjustable telescoping stock – it is far more powerful than the conventional 5.56 mm (.223) round. That power sets these rifles apart from the overwhelming majority of AR type rifles available. It is built by Barrett a Tennessee company known for quality and extensive use of their weapons by all branches of our military. These rifles have a reputation for being reliable and requiring little maintenance. The REC-7 uses a relatively innovative operating system with a minimum number of parts - a piston system that separates heat and powder residue from the bolt carrier and trigger assembly. The rifle functions with less heat and less cleaning needed which also translates to less likelihood of stoppage. The stainless piston moves energy captured in the chrome-lined gas block to the bolt carrier. The bolt carrier, machined from a monolithic block of 8620 steel, features a piston strike face that is integral to it. There is no separate gas key to shoot loose. The chrome-plated bolt is smooth, easy to clean, free of gas rings, and is purposely sized for the more powerful 6.8 SPC cartridge. The system has a chrome-plated gas regulator that retains the piston. The piston can be accessed through the gas block without removing the hand guard, and optical sights do not need to be re-zeroed after maintenance. The top of the gas block also has an integral 1913 rail, extending the rail length for mounting accessories. The REC7’s upper and lower receivers are type 3 hard coat anodized. The lower houses a single-stage combat trigger. The upper - a free-floated, 16-inch, chrome-lined barrel with M-4 feed ramps machined into both receiver and the barrel extension.
