In the world of Parker high grade shotguns, it does not get much better than this gun. The AAHE, or Grade 7, was the highest grade of Parker shotguns for many decades. Only a few A-1 Specials and 3 Invincibles were of higher order later in the game. They made a TOTAL OF 185 12 GAUGE AAHE GUNS, ONLY 35 WITH 32" BARRELS. This is a bonafide RARE PARKER. Those who know Parker guns realize that guns built for live bird shooting or trap shooting with no safety were very special, tuned by the best barrel man in the factory to shoot the best patterns possible. Huge sums of money were trading hands amongst the shooters and the publicity brought to the winning gunmaker had incredible financial ramifications for the company. This gun, sn205648 made in 1924 is just such a gun. It has no safety, 32" Peerless steel barrels overbored at the factory to .735 bore diameter (a common practice for Parker target guns) with F/F chokes. This gun's shooting characteristics are superb, as documented by the present owner, a well known competitive shooter and a "who's who" in the vintage gun world. For the serious Parker collector and shooter this is an important gun. The engraving is the finest you will see on any American gun, with 100% coverage done in the flower and scroll style typically seen on A-1 Special guns. With the triple beaded fences and barrel wedge engraving this gun is true art. The water table and forend iron are jeweled. The wood is the finest exhibition American black walnut commonly used on the later high grade Parker guns, with flor-de-lis carvings and 32LPI fine line checkering. The beavertail has full coverage 32LPI checkering and is in superb condition. Factory single selective trigger (second generation Parker trigger), strong well timed ejectors, gold pistol grip cap, and a factory Silvers butt pad complete this gorgeous shooting machine. Unfortunately Parker records in this serial number range are non-existent, but there is no question as to this being a bonafide AAHE. THIS IS AN INVESTMENT QUALITY GUN THAT IS MADE TO SHOOT.
