Description: The 1968 Gun Control Act’s size limits set off a race was on among US Importers and suppliers to replace their best selling imported pocket revolvers. Many of them set up shop producing frames in the US with imported parts. The Floridians succeeded best. FIE, later EAA, was the most successful, but Rossi Revolvers were affected as well. Kimel Industries of Matthews, NC, functioned as importer, manufacturer, and distributor from the late 1960s until the mid 1990s. We did a fair amount of business with them during that period. Here, from a New England collection, is one of Kimel’s Revolvers. Frame marking reads Kimel Industries Matthews N.C., Model 5000. Named model from our records was The Guardian. From its G prefix 40000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1974 or thereabouts. Type is traditional double and single action revolver, hammer fired against floating firing pin, with internal transfer bar safety device that prevents the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is fully depressed. Construction is steel barrel, cylinder assembly, hammer, trigger, and internal parts mounted into a Kimel proprietary two piece frame assembly with alloy cylinder yoke. Steel parts are German, probably manufactured by Hermann Weihrauch Revolver GmbH of Mellrichstadt, Germany. Barrel is 2 1/8 inch one piece steel, six groove 1:16 right hand rifling. Sights are Phillips Screw on serrated blade alloy front, with frame integral fixed notch rear. Chambering is 7 rounds of .32 Smith & Wesson or .32 S&W Long caliber ammunition in a steel cylinder. Trigger is smooth faced .245 white steel, with matching serrated spur hammer. Grips are one piece hard polymer with checkered laterals, that attach to a stem type grip mount. Finish is blued steel and black anodized. Weight empty is 23 ounces with center of gravity at the rear cylinder face. Surface detractions on this specimen are moderate to extensive, principally edge wear to the frame and trigger guard, with about 20 percent surface pitting on the cylinder and barrel. We rate it as Good, 65 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and single action pull measures in the 7 pound vicinity. Cylinder times correctly with hammer travel to spare in all seven positions on single and double action. Lateral play to the cylinder is moderate, 2-3 mm. Blast effect to the underside of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is minimal, no cutting. We estimate this revolver has been fired fewer than 100 times, all with standard velocity ammunition. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. Serviceable .32 S&W Caliber revolvers are hard to find, and one never sees them in 7 shot. We’re offering the Kimel 5000 Guardian in the photos for only $ 139.00. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
