The Ruger SR1911 reflects decades of refinement to Browning's original design while still remaining true to the original pattern. Ruger's version features rugged all steel construction (frame and slide), finished in bead-blasted, low-glare stainless. The grooved, skeletonized aluminum trigger is crisp with short reset. Finished to fine tolerances, the slide and frame are fitted to ensure accuracy and reliability--lockup is tight but the action is exceptionally smooth! The SR1911's 5” barrel / bushing set is milled at the same time on the same machine, and the gun has a tuned traditional internal extractor and a lowered and scalloped ejection port. A light titanium firing pin and skeletonized Commander style hammer reduce lock time. An oversize beavetail grip safety and extended thumb safety, mag release, and slide catch levers round out the factory performance package on this gun. A flat, grooved mainspring housing and classic “double diamond” checkered wood grips ensure easy handling. The high-visibility white-on-black 3-dot front and rear sights are dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a Novak LoMount Carry unit that is windage adjustable. The two single stack magazines, 1 7-rounder with a standard floor plate and 1 8-rounder with padded base, have bright stainless bodies and metal followers. With these slim big-bore mags, this gun is both a potent self defense package and an outstanding fit for those with smaller hands. US-made, the finish and overall workmanship on this gun are outstanding. This is a great deal on an accurate and very high quality auto-pistol!
