Originally developed as a joint venture between Switzerland's SIG and Germany's JP Sauer & Sohn to replace the Swiss service pistol, Sig P2xx series pistols are generally regarded by top-notch law enforcement agencies as one of the most accurate, simple-to-operate, and easy-to-maintain side arms available. Professionals who carry Sigs appreciate their simple operating system, easy takedown, and bold sight system that produces the best target acquisition of any handgun on the market. The P239 is the smallest, "personal size" member of the tribe in a serious defense caliber. Its thin and single-stack grip profile results in an excellent-handling gun, purpose built for concealed carry and ideal for those with smaller hands. In a potent defense caliber like .40 S&W, the pistol's basic features, SAS dehorning, and Sig's legendary "To-Hell-and-Back" reliability make the P239 SAS an outstanding choice for tactical carry.
This P239 SAS pistol is built on a small frame with typical Sig-type controls including a US-style magazine release conventionally positioned behind the trigger. The pistol has a standard Browning short, recoil operated, locked breech action with trouble free barrel lock-up at the top of the ejection port. This system is often emulated but seldom perfected to achieve the rock-solid barrel lock up and resulting accuracy that is the hall mark of all Sig pistols. Take down can be accomplished in under 10 seconds via a simple lever mounted above the trigger. Sig's unique frame mounted quick swipe decocker is mounted on the left side of the frame behind the trigger. The only other control is a slide catch mounted in its classic Sig rear position on the left of the frame. What this arrangement means is that the trigger is the only control you have to worry about when you need to focus on the immediate tactical situation and shoot. The 3 original thin, Sig 7 round single-stack magazines are all steel, very solidly built, and expertly finished in black.

The SRT vastly speeds up follow up shots, and the “Short” trigger is an ergo enhancement that reduces trigger span for maximum control as the shot is taken.
-- 2-tone Color Scheme & “SAS” Carry Treatment – A natural finish matte stainless steel slide sits atop Sig's granite hard anodized black alloy frame, resulting in a lightweight gun with an extremely durable and striking finish. The Custom Shop has expertly carried the “meltdown” treatment over the entire gun, knocking off any and all sharp edges for an ultra smooth, snag free profile that’s ideal for concealed carry.
