Left side says COLT D.A. 45., The bottom of the hand grip frame say's "U.S. ARMY model 1917 No-146xxx" serial number my research shows aprox. age 1.; my best guess. Fixed blade front site & a floating firing pin on the hammer. Other numbers on the frame & swing out hinge match 298xxx. stamp on the upper left side frame near the hammer, looks like a penguin (maybe) with S20 below it. Overall condition mechanically very good - strong hammer spring & solid cylinder lock up as the hammer drops. The rampant colt on the left side of the frame is still clearly visible. Barrel length is 5.5" the bluing looks about 65% my best guess (must be sold outside of California unless a licensed Curio & Relics collector comes into the store.
