From the AyA : The N° 4 has been AYA’s standard boxlock design since 1960. It is modelled on a Westley Richards boxlock action, brought to Spain by the King brothers. The Anson & Deeley action, the most famous of all boxlock designs, was created by two employees of Westley Richards in 1875, and ever since, Westley Richards guns have defined boxlock elegance. THE MODEL 4/53 IS THE NO. 4 BOXLOCK EJECTOR ACTION PAIRED WITH THE MORE HIGHLY FIGURED NO. 53 WOOD, HENCE THE MODEL 4/53. This as new AyA built in 2015, is a fine upland gun indeed! Weighing a scant 5lbs. 13oz. and balanced perfectly between the hands, you can carry this gun all day with little fatigue. The 28ga. chambering is known to be deadly on pheasants, grouse, quail, dove, woodcock, and all upland game. The condition is 99.5% factory with just the faintest of wear on the edges of the action. The 29" IC/M barrels are of the chopper lump design, long heralded as the very best method of joining the barrels and utilized mostly in "BEST GUNS" from the likes of Purdey and Holland & Holland. The receiver retains 99% case color and is in perfect mechanical condition, with strong well-timed ejectors, perfect screws, and crisp double triggers. The removable striker discs make maintenance and repair an easier task. These are known to be highly reliable guns, and this one is light as a feather simply gorgeous.
