The rifles were patterned after the German 98K, and were just as robust and reliable. Produced shortly after the end of WW 2, these rifles were immediately set aside for potential political turmoils as the Cold War heated up. The Yugoslavian government a few years later switched to the semi-automatic SKS to keep up with arms developments in the rest of the world. These beautiful Mausers sat in a warehouse somewhere collecting dust, and never seeing the light of day, much less the cloud of war. This fine example has a polished bolt and butt plate; 5-round internal, 8mm magazine; hooded front sight and tangent rear. Bolt, stock, bolt,and floor-plate match, and it comes with a period correct bayonet and frog (leather bayonet sleeve). With a long eye-relief scope (I recommend Brass Stacker), this rifle can be as deadly at distance as its designers intended. Once plentiful, the Mausers in this fine condition are rarely seen now.
