Description:
International Harvester M1 Garand, serial number 50607xx, made about 1954. LMR 7-54 barrel with a very nice bore. IHC stock with stars & eagle stamp and circle “P”. Major parts are IHC, but a few small parts are SA, all are described below and shown in photos. No import marks.

SPECS:
Receiver: marked “D6528291-T” on leg. Exc condition, no pitting, Original finish with wear. Marked on top with serial number and “U.S. RIFLE CAL. 30 M1 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER”.
Barrel: marked “LMR D6535448 7 54 A35” and punch mark, with “M” and 2 “P” marks and a small stars and eagle stamp. Bore is bright, crown and rifling excellent. No external pitting.
Barrel Gauge Measurements: MuzzleErosion (ME): 2, Throat Erosion (TE): 3
Op rod: marked “D-6535382 IHC”. Finish in VG condition with wear in contact areas, no pitting.
Op rod catch: late type, marked “F”
Bullet guide: stamped with notch, unmarked
Follower: late type, marked “11”
Follower arm: no bevel
Follower rod: long fork, riveted
Bolt: marked “D6528287 IHC AS”
Firing pin: half round, no chrome tip
Clip latch: late square front type, unmarked
Rear sight base: marked “B” on bottom
Elevation knob: marked “IHC” with Weatherhead logo
Windage knob: marked “IHC DRC”
Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
Rear sight aperture: HRA/SA/IHC type, double track
Trigger housing: marked “D28290-12-SA”, no pitting, finish wear
Trigger guard: stamped with stamped hook, unmarked
Trigger: late type, no extra hole, unmarked
Hammer: marked “C46008-7 SA”
Hammer spring plunger: postwar type, no wings
Safety: unmarked
Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring, punch mark on bayonet lug. Gas cylinder group finish is in VG condition. We do not know the manufacturer of the GC
Front sight: 0.75 wide
Gas cylinder lock: beveled front WWII type
Gas cylinder lock screw: cross slot, grenade launcher type, marked “HRA O”
Stock: walnut, IHC. Has circled “P” on pistol grip, stars and eagle (DOD) stamp on left side (very light), and is marked inside “1545”, which we believe means June 15, 1955. Has characteristic IHC cut below the windage knob. Also stamped “34” behind receiver heel, and has painted marking “CO. C-151” on right side, which could be removed. No cracks, no repairs, some dents. Overall very nice appearance.
Handguards: walnut, similar condition and appearance as stock.
Buttplate: postwar round plunger type, good condition with finish wear.
Stock ferrule: large hole type
Sling: GI, used, marked “MRT” and we believe “MAY 1953”.
