It is entirely stainless construction except for its anodized windage and elevation adjustable sights. The construction of the grip frame ensures easy sight acquisition, just like the old Single Action Army Colt, and comfortable handling. The Single-Six Hunter, writes the factory, is equally at home on the target range, trail or campsite - the perfect small bore single-action revolver for plinking, small game hunting or serious competition. Patented Ruger transfer bar mechanism and loading gate interlock provide an unparalleled measure of security against accidental discharge. Hunter models are equipped with an integral barrel rib for rigid mounting of Ruger scope rings (supplied at no
extra charge) and comes with a hard plastic case. Weight empty without scope is 44 1/2 ounces. Loaded weight, including the 2x20 FM Scope and factory Ruger KS100RH Rings, is 57 ounces. Mechanism is Single Action only revolver with transfer bar internal safety mechanism to prevent the firing pin from striking the cartridge unless the .312 smooth faced trigger is fully depressed. Hammer is .296 width serrated spur for easy positive operation. These fine revolvers will ignite anyone’s primers, from the hardest Remingtons and CCIs all the way to the easily lit Federal and Winchester match rounds. The Single Six never flinches from Brazilian, Russian, or Filipino ammunition. For accuracy, the Single Six Convertible is unexcelled with .22 Magnum Ammunition. Since the .22 Magnum bullet requires .001 to .002 larger bore diameter, these revolvers cannot produce the accuracy with LR ammunition that their auto siblings or S&W 617 competitors can produce. Amateur shooters will likely never know the difference, though.
This fine revolver comes with both cylinders, one to handle .22 Shorts, Longs, or Long Rifle rounds; and the other to handle the powerhouse .22 Magnum round. This is quite a formidable defensive and hunting handgun loaded with the Magnums, and very simple to operate even in stressful situations. Scope is Famous Maker Brand, manufactured in the world’s most populous nation, 1 inch tube 20mm objective, Duplex type crosshairs and lens covers. This rig’s exclusive owner, one of the most discriminating shooters in West Tennessee, bought it new from us in February. It has been well tended, and surface wear only amounts to faint cylinder rotation marking. We rate it as Near Mint in Box, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
