As the photo demonstrates the new sights are sort of like a bubble level, center the dot in the ring and the pistol is pointing at the target - I could not get my camera and to line the dot up perfectly. All other controls are recessed into the slide or removed; there is no manual safety, the slide release is just accessible to the shooter's thumb and is rounded off, so it won't snag.
