Metal surfaces retain about 99% factory blued finish and has Class C level engraving by an unknown factory artist. The gun shows that it was returned to the factory in Nov. 1981 (1181 on inside of grip strap). The gun comes with its original box, numbered to the gun with “special” and “C” on the end label. The hammer and trigger show nice case-hardened colors. The smooth square butt light colored grips with gold Smith & Wesson medallions rate excellent, they are numbered to a different revolver but fit extremely well. This very nice engraved Model 36 comes with an original blue, hinge top, LSI box with cleaning rod.
