Description:
WWII Inland Division General Motors US M1 .30 carbine. Serial number 5472xxx dates to 1944. Inland barrel dated August 1944 with a bright bore. Stock, bolt, slide and some other small parts are marked Inland, others are of mixed manufacture, all are described below and shown in photos. No import marks.
The carbine has been disassembled, examined, cleaned and lubricated. We test fired the carbine and it shoots great. See our video at our YouTube channel Fernwood Armory TV.

Inland M1 sn 5472xxx Specs:
Receiver: Jan 1944 – Aug 1944. No pitting, very nice appearance.
Barrel: Inland, marked “INLAND MFG. DIV. GENERAL MOTORS 8-44” and proof mark “P”. Bore is bright and shiny. Muzzle reads 1. There are some small tool marks and an area of very light pitting on the top of the barrel, see photos.
Front sight: marked “N”
Rear sight: adjustable, stamped, marked “I.R. Co. 7160060”
Bolt: round, marked “IO” with sideways “1”, shows finish wear
Firing pin: marked “I-I”
Extractor: late type flat lip, marked “W.I.”
Barrel band: bayonet lug type, marked “KI”
Trigger housing: milled/forged, marked “O” on right side, probably Winchester
Trigger: marked “PD B”
Safety: rotary
Operating slide: marked “PI” inside, some small numbers outside
Hammer: straight, marked “WU”
Sear: marked “RIA”
Magazine catch: 15-round type
Stock: walnut, oval cut low wood, NOT M2 type, marked “IO” in sling well. No cracks, far less than average dings/scratches, very nice appearance. Has a 3/16” dowel in front of trigger housing, can’t see a crack if this was a repair. Installed and sanded flush before finish.
Handguard: walnut, two rivets, marked “IO”, same condition and appearance as stock
Recoil plate: marked “DI”
Buttplate: unmarked, square checkering pattern
Magazine: 15-round, marked “IS”
Sling: USGI fair condition, D-tip
Oiler: marked “II”
