Has the original oil finish. Has a 33” Rd barrel with original sights, inspector initials and NJ on the left side , also has the original brass tipped ramrod. The lockplate has E.Whitney US ahead of the hammer and N.Haven 1851 to the rear of the plate. Has a brass buttplate, patchbox, triggerguard, sideplate and barrel bands. The patchbox , sideplate, front barrel band , buttplate and triggerguard have considerable traces of original silver plating. Has a US marked buttplate and original sling swivels. Metal overall has a aged grey patina finish with the iron parts having some fine pitting in areas mainly the breech area. The brass has a patina finish.
