Description: Springfield Armory Trapdoor 1884, serial # 3194xx, made in 1891 making it an 1888 model. On the 1888, they continue to use the 1884 as the model. This is from my personal collection and represents one of the finest examples you can find, possibly unissued. Bore bright and shinny. All cartouches clear and visible. Sight wrench in stock where it belongs. Correct spike bayonet (Teddy didn't like them as they "bent" easy). Mechanically all working. Wood is in great shape for its age, it at 90% or better. Metal good, barrel turning to patina, metal rating 90%. Period correct rear peep sight. Barrel correct 32 inch length. Original sling Wood has no big dings or cracks. Due to the high condition of this gun, it was probably not issued as shortly after, the Kraig replaced these types. $1995 plus shipping to dealer or C&R. More pics available with some closeups
