This M1 is clearly marked and dated, Letterkenny (LEAD) 10-65 and so, was among the final M1 Rifles built when the craftsmen who built M1 Rifles over the years, took great pains to turn out what they knew would be the final ones made. I cannot fault this rifle, inside or out. All wood and steel is excellent, along with the bore that appears to not have been more than test fired at the arsenal.
