This model 4553TSW, earlier variant, was manufactured from 1997 until 1999 only, with only one subsequent run of rail equipped variants in 2000 – 2002. Type is Double Action Only lightweight compact centerfire semi automatic pistol. It has a firing pin safety to guard against firing if it is dropped; and has a magazine safety so that it will not fire at all with the magazine removed. Construction is stainless steel slide, barrel, and parts with anodized .305 smooth faced combat trigger, anodized .260 semi-bobbed hammer, and black Novak Lo-Carry dovetailed fixed rear sight with matching dovetailed front sight, completing a 3 dot system with a 5 3/4 inch sight radius. Barrel is 3 3/4 inch collared muzzle, with full length stainless guide rod. Frame is coated white alloy, round faced trigger guard with checkered serration grip frame front strap and straight mainspring housing contoured one piece black polymer grip. Overall length is 7 inches from the muzzle to the grip frame strut, with 5 inches of height from the top of the rear sight to the magazine’s floorplate. Chambering, of course, is .45 ACP, and this pistol has both factory stainless 6 shot magazines, 6+1 capacity. Slide thickness measures .985 inch, and weight empty is 28.6 ounces.
