It is a shotgun for purposes of lawful transfer. From farm service on a Kibbutz in the Land of Israel comes this Auto Five Standard Weight Shotgun. Manufacturer was Fabrique Nationale Herstal, Belgium. Serial number is 59 17000 range, 1959 Production. Auto Fives manufactured for consumption outside the US did not always hew to Browning's 1954 numbering scheme. Recent importer from Israel had to stamp it on the right side receiver in compliance with US Law. Type is John M. Browning design recoil operated semi automatic shotgun. Construction is entirely steel metal with only a brass friction ring. Chambering is for 2 3/4 inch shells only, with Browning’s brass and steel friction rings that are adjustable for light to heavy load shells. Receiver and most parts interchange with the later production Light Twelves, but not with the Magnum Twelves. Magazine is white steel, Capacity is 4 + 1, or 2 + 1 with a plug or 3 shot adapter that is not included by the way.
