Description: The centennial will see prices double and double again, very quickly. Buy military items now and beat the soon to be seen price jumps. This US Springfield Model 1903 Rifle, began life at Rock Island Arsenal in 1906, with a 30-03 chamber. The US Military wanted to copy the German Spitzer (pointed) bullet, having higher muzzle velocity. So, in 1906 they began to upgrade their M1903 rifles to chamber the 30-06 cartridge. This of course, became a premiere hunting cartridge that still is among the top sold today. Where was this rifle used in combat? Philippine Insurrection? Punitive Raid into Mexico against Pancho Villa? Banana Wars? WWI? WWII? We can't know for sure but every ding on the stock says that, "It was there!" Early finger groove stock. Early straight bolt handle. This is a combat time machine. The centennial initial celebrations for WWII will begin in a short 11-12 years.
