It, along with it's sister rifle were shipped from England to Cleveland, OH in their original boxes and wrappings by my late uncle, LT. Fred G. Ferris, 17th Airborne. After their arrival, the boxes were opened by my father, who was only 10 years old at the time, cleaned and put away until my uncle returned from WWII. After the war the other rifle was sold while this one was inherited my dad. My uncle Fred was awarded 4 Purple Hearts, 2 Silver Stars and The Distinguished Service Cross posthumously when he was killed in Korea on July 4 1951. After seventy plus years it does have some storage marks on it, but it is original with all the original parts just as it was shipped from the Winchester factory and as I stated "it has never had a round fired through it". The muzzle naturally has "0" wear, while the throat measures "-1". This rifle will only continue to appreciate in value. The rifle can be seen by appointment in Scottsdale, Arizona, or if it is too far to drive I can send more specific pictures to serious parties.
