Above average condition with several modifications. It currently has a 26" barrel stamped as Full choke. But originally the barrel was longer, and cut to 26", and the inner end of the bore threaded to accept screw-in chokes. The included choke is labeled Briley S-27 VX MOD. A ventilated vent rib was then installed to both the barrel and the receiver frame. The work appears very professional. Barrel and receiver have matching serial number 520078. The barrel is date coded as PF which means the gun was built in June of 1937. Bore is shiny with no pitting area scabs. My guess would be that the receiver and magazine tube bluing is all original as it has some normal wear due to pump action, with a trace of some high edge wear on the receiver along with a small number of very small light scratches. But that's it, the rest of the bluing is in terrific condition. Barrel was probably re-blued after installation of vent rib. I'm going to assume the stock has been refinished, it's difficult to tell as if it has been, it is once again superb work. The rear stock has no cracks, just some very small scuffs and a few small light tiny handling marks. A very small amount of wear at the bottom of the pistol grip. It currently has a Red Head butt pad. The grooved corncob foregrip would basically be flawless except for a button size gouge on one side. All varnish is thick and glassy. As the pictures I can provide to a SERIOUS buyer will show, it’s in pretty darn nice shape for an 86 year old firearm and would be a source of envy if taken out into the field. Everything functions flawlessly. I can provide a video clip showing the firearm in use. I am not a dealer. I am a private individual selling this firearm from my personal collection. I picked it up from an estate auction over a year ago and can only verify its current condition.
