The Kobra Carry LW is the smallest, lightest 1911 that Ed Brown has ever offered. Built on our new lightweight, aluminum compact (Officer's) size frame and combined with a round butt housing and concealed carry beavertail for maximum concealability. The slide is a Commander (4.25") length for total reliability and offers a longer sight radius. Our unique, directional Snakeskin metal treatment on the frame and slide is ideal for carry and is less aggressive than checkering while maintaining a secure grip. A fixed black rear sight is mated with a high visibility red fiber optic front sight. Includes a heavy slide chamfer, recessed slide stop, carry cuts and a flush barrel with recessed crown, and fully customizable with over 100 options to make it your own. Our aluminum frame is made from 7075, the strongest aluminum alloy available and the same material used in M-16/AR-15 assault rifle receivers.
Normally, the feedramp might be damaged just by hollowpoint rounds impacting it repeatedly, but not with an Ed Brown. We have solved this particular problem by designing a steel insert for the feedramp. Hollow point or solid nose ammo hits the steel insert and never touches the aluminum frame.
