Anyone who has studied L.C. Smith is aware of the famous “LONG RANGE”, made to shoot a heavy, 3” twelve gauge 1 3/8oz. load while keeping patterns 90% 40 yards. The Long Range is very sought after and in high condition like this one, nearly impossible to find. They only made 156 in Specialty Grade, 114 having 32” barrels, 66 with ejectors, 72 with Hunter One Trigger single selective trigger, and likely only a few left on the planet with 99% FACTORY METAL FINISHES. This is one VERY RARE FIND IN THE WORLD OF L.C. SMITH WATERFOWLERS. For those seeking the magic and skills of some of the best bore and choke men that ever lived, this is the “Holy Grail”. Most of the Long Range waterfowlers were used hard and are worn guns. This gun has likely never been afield, retaining all FACTORY ORIGINAL METAL FINISHES , with 99% vivid case color, factory barrel blue, forend escutcheon blue, and trigger guard blue, truly one of the best in existence. IT IS OBVIOUS THE GUN HAS BEEN EXPERTLY RESTOCKED with stunning English walnut, fitted to the metal with precision and utmost skill, checkered and finished to perfection. The cost the stock work exceeds the value of the gun at $6000, and it is gorgeous and done to modern dimensions. With 14 ½” LOP to a rear position trigger, it will fit most tall shooters. IF YOU PREFER A CHOCOLATEY BROWN STAIN, WE CAN DO THAT IN OUR SHOP FOR A SMALL EXTRA COST. The big gun weighs 8lbs. 13oz. and balances 1” forward of the hinge pin for a smooth, positive swing on long targets. The beefy buttstock and perfect layout through the wrist was built to withstand the recoil of heavy loads. Same for the hand-filling, graceful beavertail forend that is a blessing in colder climates. The mechanics are perfect including a crisp, fully functional trigger and strong well timed ejectors. Examine the photos and the specifications below and you will see a stunning Elsie, with sharp superior engraving, and stunning wood. A great shooting gun and sure to increase in value as you enjoy its use. A classic waterfowler at home in the blind, whacking turkey, blocking for pheasants, or blasting long range doves, this is a chance to own a very nice Elsie priced fairly when considering rarity, special order features, and condition! Thanks for looking.
